A little bit about Fort McKay:

Fort MacKay, or Fort McKay, is a community in northeast Alberta, Canada that is located at the confluence of the Athabasca and MacKay rivers. It is approximately 54 km north of Fort McMurray via Highway 63 and Fort McKay Road.

Pipefitters:

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings
  • Assembles and installs piping sections according to blueprints and job specifications
  • Performs physically demanding tasks such as cutting openings for pipe while standing for extended periods of time and securing pipe in hard to reach areas
  • Uses testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements: 

  • Must be a registered Journeyman/Apprentice Pipefitter with a recognized provincial training authority**
  • Must possess valid CSTS.09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification
  • Must successfully complete pre-access D&A testing, as required by client
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to read drawings and measure pipe

Work Conditions:

  • Flights provided from Edmonton and Calgary only
  • Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Accommodations and meals provided
  • 10 hours per day
  • Contracting for Journeypersons available
  • Job Type: Fly-In/Fly-Out

Drivers:

Requirements:

  • Must have a Class One drivers license and a clean drivers abstract
  • Must have experience operating Hydraulic Cranes
  • Must possess valid CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) version 9 certification
  • Pre Access A& D
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Working Conditions:

  • 14/7rotation
  • Flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary ONLY
  • Meals and Accommodations provided
  • Minimum 10 hour days
  • Benefits provided by MERIT (unless contract)
