Position Details

We are currently looking for full-time Lifter or an Occupational Tester to join our Fort McMurray facility. Working in a team-oriented environment, as an Occupational Tester, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of occupational health tests (the successful candidate will be trained by SureHire). As a Lifter candidate in addition to conducting occupational health tests, you will be primarily responsible for administering Critical Strength and Mobility Testing.

This is a full-time position, hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, some evenings and weekends may be required.

Candidates must have their own reliable vehicle as occasional travel may be required for onsite testing or travel in between SureHire locations.


  • Assist with client intake and general office duties

    • Greeting clients

    • Verifying identification

    • Preparing required paperwork

  • Assist medical assessors with muscular-skeletal assessment

    • Blood pressure

    • Height, weight

    • Grip strength

  • Conduct a variety of occupational testing services

    • Urine analysis

    • Breath alcohol

    • Audiometry

    • Spirometry

    • Vision

    • Mask Fitting

  • Ensure accuracy on all completed paperwork before submitted it for review

As a Lifter candidate, in addition to the above you will also:

  • Conduct critical strength and mobility testing

  • Demonstrate proper lifting technique

  • Ensure proper lifting techniques are being used

  • Monitor heart rate and oxygen levels


  • Professional and friendly demeanour

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize a heavy workload

  • Problem solving and interpersonal skills

This position requires someone who is ready and willing for continual learning as policies and procedures are updated. Additionally, an individual must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to effectively work as a team.


 To be considered as a Lifter candidate you must have one or more of the following: Personal Fitness Training Certificate/Diploma or Kinesiology Degree, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant. Additionally, the following certifications are considered strong assets, though not required: CSEP-CPT, CSEP-CEP, AFLCA, NCSF, ISSA, ACE or CanFit Pro certification.

There are no educational requirements to be considered for the Occupational testing position.


A minimum of one to two years’ experience in a customer service field is required.
