Fort McMurray Labor Source, a leading provider of temporary staffing and recruitment services in Fort McMurray is seeking  Tool Crib Attendants for a full time assignment with our client in Fort McMurray. These positions Work on a 14 days on / 7 days off rotation. Camp accommodation provided, flights from Calgary and Edmonton hubs only.


Job Introduction


Performs tasks to ensure materials are available for repair, adaptation, preventative maintenance and installation for plant equipment, machinery and the building itself. The position requires daily communication with suppliers to ensure that parts are receiving on time and available for the maintenance team in order to ensure the timely scheduling of maintenance. The Tool Crib Attendant will communicate the status of all ordered parts and materials as required.


Major Responsibilities

  • Comply with all policies and procedures related to quality, health and safety, environmental as well as any other legislative requirement

  • Maintain all tools and parts in the crib; in an orderly and secure manner to ensure stock accessibility in a busy  environment.

  • Ensure that stock levels of tooling, maintenance, and stocked crib items are monitored, maintained and distributed in a controlled manner as per the work instructions.

  • Receive, unpacks incoming materials and stocks in appropriate, labelled locations; requisitions stock to replenish inventory in a timely manner.

  • Notify and/or distribute material to the appropriate employee manually or using a hand truck

  • Record material activity as it is deposited or withdrawn from the tool crib; verifies logging in and out of tooling and locates lost or misplaced items.

  • Provide updates for parts and services as required, track all parts out for repair, and process returns as required.

  • Prepare periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.

  • Participate in weekly inventory audits

Knowledge and Education

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts.

  • Education – High school or equivalent.

Work Experience

  • Three years experience in a similar role.

  • Previous experience with a multiple management systems.

  • Skills and Competencies

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Demonstrates self motivation, strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Ability to read and write basic English.

  • Mathematical Skills.
